Word Of The Day: Perdition 11-25-25

Synonyms: a state of eternal punishment and damnation into which a sinful and unpenitent person passes after death.

Escape this!

Fire and darkness,

Waits for you.

Perdition is not the only option.

Turn to God!

Accept His hand,

Ask Him to come,

And make you new.

Live life for His good news.

Spread the Word to all,

Everyone come.

Live eternally in heaven.

Peace and light,

Waits for you.

My faith has been reignited within the last few days. A pastor who I’ve been watching said, “Focus on habit and not feelings.” So I will turn away from what has been keeping me back and away from God. And I will put God back front and center!

I’ve been not really living a very Christ first, life these last eight years. I’ve not really listened to a sermon for eight years. Sermons can be heard every day of the week not just Sunday, I just discovered. Haha. I’ve just been going through the motions of being a Christian. But with my faith being awakened. I’ve realized how the devil must have snuck into a door I thought I had closed from my past. And he’s been lurking making me not living fully.

Like I relied on God being there for me when I needed Him. But not that He needs me to spread his Word too. And that He’s always with me, not just when He is needed.

But it’s amazing. I have more energy in a day. I’m not exhausted by bedtime. I am less frustrated and angry. I have more compassion for others. I’m enjoying reading my Bible. Sharing what I learn with my mom. It’s amazing when you restructure your life back, with God first. That life gets better.

Have a blessed Tuesday!

God Bless!❤️

Word Of The Day: Galumph 07-02-25

Synonyms: shuffle, stomp, stumble, slough, trudge, lump, lurch, etc.

I go up the stairs.

I go down the stairs.

Several times a day.

This is nothing new,

Just like an everyday stew.

Leave the camper,

Come to the camper.

Constantly moving.

Until!

A stumble, a bumble;

A galumph down the stairs.

Pain!

And wet…

Deep bruising beginning,

My bones stinging.

But do I stop, no!

Do I cry, no!

I change and gather,

Then start on our walking adventure.

I fell down our camper stairs about three days ago. It was pretty bad.

I had my baby in the stroller at the bottom of the stairs. So I decided to turn at the last step and step backwards. Didn’t realize my daughter had left a clear bin full of water there. So my foot found the edge of the bin and I thudded to the ground. Soaking wet, sore, and covered in mud. I managed to roll midair to my right side. So my whole right side is really bruised. I’m sore and black and blue.

But we had been preparing to go for a walk. So I got myself up, those treacherous stairs. Changed my clothes, and went for the walk.

I’m doing better now. I’m just bruised and sore. But I was able to exercise this morning.

Two good things came out of it.

#1 my phone did not get wet. It had been in my left back pocket!!

#2 I’ve been self-conscious about being in a trailer park. That I thought people were watching me, but once I fell no one came to see if I was alright. So no one is watching me. Bad way to find it out, but a blessing to know.

Coffee…?

….

Freshly brewed,

Long overdue.

Piping hot,

A cup, not a pot.

Milk poured in,

Face gains a grin.

Creamy brown,

Never a frown.

Sip…

Blip!

Oh no!

Down and up it goes!

Burn the throat!

Burn the nose!

Pains.

Stains.

All joy gone.

….

I had my first cup of caffeinated coffee in 8 years. Actually only a 1/4 cup. And I inhaled, choked, and gained a sore throat and burned nose. So definitely a kill joy. It’s a sign I should still give it up.

But enjoy your Mother’s Day. At least I only stained the sink. And not my clothes for church!!

Word Of The Day: Turbid 2-16-24

Synonyms: murky, muddy, thick, cloudy, clouded, etc.

.-.-.

The turbid liquid,

Stirred before me.

I used to find comfort,

Instead I have misery.

The joy is gone;

The laughter too.

I’m left with murky,

Thick…

Cloudy Coffee.

It’s bitter,

It’s brown.

Now all I do is frown.

Goodbye my old friend.

I’ll never drink you again.

.-.-.

Obviously this poem is about coffee, but it’s truly about the lost love for coffee. When I became pregnant with my daughter I gave up coffee. It was difficult, because I enjoyed the smell, the flavor, and just the warm drink in the morning.

I switched to a tea; which is good, but not yummy like I remember the coffee being. But I’ve been caffeine free for almost 8 years. Well for the most part.

If we are on a trip or my husband desperately needs my help I have a mocha frappe with real coffee. All the sugar and caffeine makes me an energizer bunny. But I’ve also given up sugar. So that option is no more. Now I have to drink plain old coffee.

Which I used to love! I’d have coffee with milk. Simple. But now that’s so bitter to me.

I’ve had an occasional decafe coffee and I never can drink all of it, so I’ve given up. I think coffee is not meant for me.

Which makes me feel boring. Like coffee was the thing that connected me to people my age. And I already have a tough time talking to people…now I’ve chopped out the simplest conversation starter. Haha!

Well after all that…I’m just sad to say goodbye to coffee. It’s been a part of my life since I was 15. Now a part of me is gone.

Enjoy your weekend. Enjoy a cup of coffee!!

Just a few cups I’ve gotten over the years. I need to cross out boyfriend and write husband….I love giant cups!!

Word Of The Day: Ubiquitous 12-28-23

Ubiquitous

Synonyms: ever-present, present every where, omnipresent, everywhere, etc.

.-.-.

Life is full of these,

They never seem to leave.

They always linger,

Even if you point your finger;

They stay.

.-.

Mother’s, father’s, sister’s, brother’s;

These things thrive in summers.

Different shapes, colors, and design.

Why do they never decline!

Instead, they stay.

.-.

You can search,

But they are always perched.

You can clean,

But they return to the scene.

They stay.

.-.

Can you guess?

Or do you too feel the stress?

I love them still,

I find what I can and then chill.

The socks.

.-.-.

I had my husband choose the topic today. He was listing off different things, but I laughed when he said socks. Because it’s so true. So socks was the theme.

No matter how many you pick up they always seem to grow more. Or when you go to fold socks, you never have all the matches. It’s mind boggling.

But I do, I love socks. I continue to buy them. They make me happy. My daughter actually gave me a couple pairs of the slipper socks. I love those too!!

Have a wonderful Thursday!! Try to catch ‘em!! (Socks, Not Pokémon. Haha)

Socks…? How many?

Food. My Family Lives Food!

What are your family’s top 3 favorite meals?

I’m going to stay away from holiday meals. Because Christmas and Thanksgiving to me are easy answers.

#1 I think one of my favorite meals is a big juicy steak. With some side of potatoes, corn, salad. But most importantly, we need the horseradish sauce. I like to make the sauce extra spicy. Where when you eat it, it clears your sinuses. But this meal is an easy one for me. I marinate the steak the night before. Then I make the side dishes, and the husband cooks the meat. I can make most things. But he does those dishes,I have trouble with, and they come out amazing. Steak, burgers, chocolate chip cookies, and biscuits.

#2 It’s a recent meal. I made beef enchiladas a couple weeks ago. And they were amazing!! I wish I had taken pictures and used it for a blog post. Maybe next time I will. But I also made the enchilada sauce from scratch too. And I think that made a huge difference. Another part that amazed me was, that my daughter ate it. She didn’t particularly like it, but she ate it. But that my son ate 1 and half enchiladas. I had 3…I’m a grown adult. He is not even 1 1/2 years old and he devoured them. The husband also took the leftovers for work. I was a little annoyed he took them; I wanted to eat them…

🤤

#3 Probably Orange Chicken. What’s funny about this meal is, it’s a staple in my entire family. At my mom’s house they also have this often. I just take it a step farther and I make everything from scratch. Not the sauce. I use the panda orange chicken sauce. It’s just so delicious. And less work for me. I always strive for that. Haha! But this is a meal that has transcended generations.

Like all the posts I could probably list more favorites, but I think I will leave these answers as the only answers. Because they are true.

Well I should get back in the kitchen. The husband worked yesterday so today is our Thanksgiving dinner day.

Have an amazing weekend!!

.-.-.-.

Five colors.

Four painted hands.

Three crisp papers.

Two excited kiddos.

One wet brush.

That’s right! Thanksgiving Hand turkeys. I hope to do it every year. To see how their little hands grow every year! ❤️

To Be A Kid At Heart…?

What does it mean to be a kid at heart?

This is a difficult question to answer. Because I think it will change based on where you are in life.

But to me I think it’s to still have that innocence. Where you can be an adult, but there is something that makes you giddy and excited; just like it would for a five year old. That it’s the purest enjoyment.

Like for me, when I get a new painting idea. I get all giddy and excited to at least get my idea down.

I think for my husband it’s playing video games. Not as giddy as I would be. But I think it reminds him of his teenage days. He still can get online and play with his buddies.

But I don’t think it’s really behavior like a child. It’s the pure excitement that comes with doing something you love.

So for me when someone is being immature and someone says they are a child at heart I don’t feel the same.

That’s more like you are stuck in the age of a fifteen to sixteen year old, and you are still a pain. Every parent knows the age. It’s the age where you yourself regrets experiencing personally.

So to sum up. For me…

Child at heart = pure innocent excitement.

Inspired by my sons costume yesterday.

.-.

Yellow

And in charge.

Waddle here,

Waddle there.

So cute,

So large.

Definitely in charge.

.-.-.-.-.-.-.

He was a duck. It was super adorable. But he was stomping around the harvest festival like he was the boss. It was so cute!!

Now it’s time to decorate for Christmas!! My son loves going to Costco and seeing all the lights. Excited to see his reaction when it will be in and outside our home for almost 3 months.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Word Of The Day: Foliage 10-14-23

Synonyms: leaves, greenery, herbage, vegetation, leafage, etc.

.-.-.-.-.

The sky is the deepest blue;

With every so often a cloud.

White, fluffy, and soft;

Flying for all to see.

.-.-.

The air is crisper;

Sending chills down my spine.

Time for jackets;

And always warm hugs.

.-.-.

The ground seems harder;

Impossible as it may seem.

Preparing for winter;

To withstand the feet of snow.

.-.-.

The fluttering leaves have all disappeared.

The trees stand bare.

Only the pine trees;

Engulfing our home,

Still wear their greenery proudly.

.-.-.-.-.-.

Today seemed like a poem day. It’s warmer today but thinking back two days ago it was cold enough that we had our first fire for the season.

I really love fall. Watching the trees change, watching the animals hide away. But also just watching God’s creations change. ❤️

Have a wonderful Monday!!

A picture from our many road-trips.

Prompt, Word Of the Day, and Poetry….

If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?

Word Of The Day: Dauntless 7-19-23

Synonyms: fearless

They are free?

They are free!

What a wonderful day to be me!

Just paying for two more,

Is less of a chore.

We will pack up our bags;

Start off to the the flag,

Of Hawaii.

.

It’s so beautiful there.

I’ve never a care.

The amazing jungles,

The different sands,

Oh what a wonderful day to be grand.

Will I do it this time?

Will dauntless be me?

Can I swim in the ocean?

Can I be openly free?

Fearless that’s me!

.

Nope…

Never mind.

Sharks and me not a pretty dime.

I’ll stay on the beach,

That’s fine.

If only this was true,

To be seeing the wonders of blue.

The island of Hawaii,

With me!

We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. It was forever ago. It would be fun to go again. We will go again! I just don’t know when. But it is indeed magical there. The blues, the greens, the reds, pinks, and different hues. I would love to see it all again.

Finally resting peacefully.

The night was a struggle.

.-.-.

Breakfast.

My essences left my body.

I stand hollow and empty.

Yelling and chattering,

Never end with these two.

.-.

Food is out.

Why such a battle.

I squirmed and wriggled,

To get one meal done.

Please nap time come.

.-.-.

Afternoon.

Chaos is constant.

Never a moment of peace.

Questions spewing, toys flying, emotions rising.

Will it ever be done?

Bedtime.

Screams of protest.

Anger developing.

Stumbles, fumbles, thrash, splash.

Silence follows all those blunders.

.-.-.

Silence.

Regrets and upsets,

Fill my brain.

Retrace your steps,

To learn again.

Sleep.

Being a mama is tough. One child is different than two. Especially when your first child is intelligent and stubborn. She is determined to do it her way. He way or the highway. Except that doesn’t work when it’s supposed to be my way.

Little man is so mellow compared to her. He is smart too, noticeably for his age. My life will be interesting; calm way to put it.

But I struggle. I don’t know what I’m doing. I try my best and always some part of the day seems to be….Blarghbaaaaaaaaaa!!! If you couldn’t tell, that was me having a meltdown.

And I know it will continue to be difficult if we continue to add to our family. But hopefully I can find that flow…a current of productive moments.

I do have those moments. And I need to try and focus on the happy sweet moments of the day at bedtime. It’s difficult. But I know they probably outnumber the bad moments.

To all young moms out there. You are doing a great job. And all grandma’s now, you did amazing job raising your kids. Because they decided to continue the line of family. Your kids feel comfortable and confident enough to raise kids on their own.

Thank you to my mom!❤️

I will starting to paint soon. And some of the art from my blog will finally be on canvases!! I’m excited to get my art out into the world. 🎊

The word of the day today might be a negative word. But it helps show you the good in life. Like the picture above. Always after something bad, the good will come into focus, and shine in your life. Have a wonderful day ❤️
